Meet the Staff:
Harley Yanoff (Director) is a New York based actor who splits his time between Boston and NY. He is a graduate of Brandeis University with a B.A. in Theater Arts Performance. He made his professional theater debut in A Little Night Music with the Lyric Stage Company of Boston. At Brandeis University he was seen as Jack in Into The Woods, Bob in Balm In Gilead, Chance in The Water Children, and Edges, a new song cycle. Other theatre credits include Jeff in Kimberly Akimbo (Hovey Players), Troy Bolton in High School Musical (Neverland Theatre), Hugo Peabody in Bye Bye Birdie (Fiddlehead Theatre Company), The Artful Dodger in Oliver (Turtle Lane Playhouse) and Harvey Cheyne, for which he received an EMACT award for Best Young Actor in a lead role in the New England premiere of Captains Courageous (Newton Country Players). Wayland High School credits include Chuck Cranston in Footloose, and George in The Actor's Nightmare. He has starred short films such as The Burn Book with Jodom Pictures, Noted with Who Productions, Key's To Success with Code Red Productions as well as in an independent feature film, Remedial Attraction with FR. Perro Inc. which premiered August 2006 at the Landmark Theatre in Kendall Square. His television credits include a role on the Fox TV hit show Fringe as well as featured work on WB's Gossip Girl. Major motion pictures include My Best Friend's Girl starring Kate Hudson and Dane Cook, and can be seen in the film 21 starring Kevin Spacey. He can be seen as the Ambulance Driver in the film "Don McKay" due out this spring which stars Thomas Haden Church and Elizabeth Shue. He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), a union for professional film actors, and Actors Equity Association (AEA), for professional theater actors. He is also a professionally trained vocalist and released his demo CD in 2006.
For eight summers he was the head counselor at the Turtle Lane Playhouse Summer Children's Theater Workshop where he also taught an acting and auditioning class. He has also worked with Boston Casting where he has assisted with many projects.
From Los Angeles, California, and acting in New York City currently, Olivia Mell is a graduate of Brandeis University with a B.A. in Theater Arts with a specialization in acting. Previous Brandeis acting credits include: The Black Eyed (Tamam), Into The Woods (Cinderella), The Threepenny Opera (Polly Peachum), Saturday Night (Helen), Philosophical Love (dancer), and her senior thesis project Woman in the Background as three of Harold Pinter's famous female roles: Emma from Betrayal, Sarah from The Lover, and Ruth from The Homecoming. Other acting credits include Grease (Sandy), Guys and Dolls (Adelaide), and Ruthless (Sylvia St. Croix) with the Adderley School of Performing Arts. She has also starred in the short film The Orchard (Dolores/Agnes), and will appear in the upcoming short film Bailout (Alice) with Lucid Trance Films.
In college, Olivia was a member of the award winning a cappella group, Starving Artists. Olivia is honored and thrilled to be a part of the Spotlight Theater Workshop, and looks forward to a wonderful and fulfilling summer!
Benjamin Sloane (Acting) is currently a NY based actor and thrilled to be a part of the Spotlight Theater Workshop. Ben grew up in Rochester, New York and graduated from Emerson College with a BFA in Acting. He most recently made his professional theater debut in Stoneham Theater's production of Picnic. Other stage credits include "Marat Sade" at Emerson College, and works by his favorite authors, Samuel Beckett and Samuel Shepard. He has also worked with Boston Casting assisting with various projects in the past. He was cast in the recent feature films: "The Great Debaters", "21", and "The Bachelor #2". Ben is a proud member of the Actors Equity Association (AEA) which is a union for professional theater actors. Ben has worked at great lengths to become proficient in Shakespeare, improvisation, solo-performance, mask, and movement.
